Mui Ne's traditional fishing village is one of the most visually striking in Southern Vietnam: hundreds of traditional round woven bamboo coracles (thung chai) tied up along the shore, brightly painted junk boats at anchor, and colourful nets laid out to dry on the beach. The village wakes at sunrise and operates as a working fishing community rather than a tourist site — you walk through a real harbour at work. The catch comes in before dawn and is sold at the adjacent wet market by mid-morning.
